Pesticides Control Unit

Vision: To provide an excellent service of Pesticides Management that is based on sound decision making that contributes to the good health of our citizens while protecting the environment.

Mission: The Pesticides Control Unit is responsible for the regulation of the manufacture, importation, packaging, use, storage, advertising and sale of pesticides in Barbados.

Objectives

  • The updating of The Pesticide Control Act (Cap 395) so that it is consistent and relevant to international standards and conventions.
  • Establish procedures for documentation to improve efficiency.
  • Improve public awareness about pesticides.
  • Participate in projects that contribute to improved environmental and public health situations.
